Everyone wants their trip to be filled with great emotions and wonderful experiences, but occasionally plans must be adjusted along the road. Those who travel frequently understand how difficult it is to avoid adventures and unusual circumstances. The heroes of this story have had similar experiences.
Story 1:
Ten years ago, following a terrible divorce, a friend of mine traveled to Turkey and had a brief affair with a young hotel entertainer. Upon her return, she discovered she was pregnant. She chose to retain the child.
She told “Daddy” about it, and he blocked her everywhere. She giggled and forgot about him. The youngster grew up brilliant, healthy, and gorgeous, exactly like his father. The boy’s father contacted him around a year ago.
He eventually married and had a daughter. And the love and devotion he felt for the infant girl reminded him of his undesired and illegitimate firstborn. The man stated he wanted to meet his son. It may sound unusual, but they began to correspond, as did his wife (he did not hide this aspect of his life from her), and the spouses asked my friend and her kid to visit them. The trip turned out just fine, not awkward at all. And the guy’s father began to court my friend (he had been widowed for 5 years), and his son didn’t mind. Anyway, now my friend marries her son’s grandfather. © Caramel / VK
Story 2:
My mother and I traveled to Tunisia when I was 18 years old and she was 40. One of the market vendors particularly loved my mother. He pulled me aside and gestured that he was willing to offer me a jacket and 12 camels if my mother remained in the country. And I answered, “You have 12 camels; I only have one mother. “And my father will not agree.”
Story 3:
On vacation, we booked a room. The landlady appeared fine; she even provided us free bicycles. But one evening, we decided to hold a barbecue and requested a grill. It was already extremely shabby: in some spots, the steel could still be seen through the soot, but there were very few clean areas.
We barbecued some meat, and I went to clean the grates. I scrubbed it with all my power. Then the landlady came by, saw the grate, and began shrieking that we had destro::yed it. I was startled, and the landlady insisted we get a new one. Her employee came over, pulled me away, removed the grating, and stated that everything was great. © Hasselhoff/Pikabu.

A neighbor told me how they traveled on vacation to Greece with their small kid. They spent 12 of 14 days in a confined room because their kid had chickenpox. © Confusion / ADME
Story 5:
For our wedding anniversary, my husband and I traveled to a 5-star hotel and planned to play golf. We were informed that there had been a mistake in the booking, and we were given a room with a king-size bed but no fridge or other facilities for which we paid.
After an hour of arguing, we were eventually assigned a suite. But that is not all. We phoned down to have food brought back to our room. I had unique requirements, so we inquired whether they could be accommodated, and they agreed. However, after a time, the waiter remarked, “Sorry, we can’t help you.”
We tried to go to bed, but some children were screaming behind the wall. Their father told us, “We are on vacation. I am not telling them they have to be quiet.” Anyway, at 4.30 a.m. we moved to another hotel. What a great start to the holiday! © Jennifer Klim / Quora
Story 6:
During our vacation, my wife and I went on a one-day boat cruise, and there was a middle-aged woman among the passengers. I was on my way to the ladder to have a swim when I overheard the woman chatting to my wife about where we were from, where we had been, how we were enjoying our vacation, and so on. So I sat down and decided to listen in a bit.
Then the lady questioned my wife:
— How many years is your husband older than you?
The reason why she asked this is because I am 10 years older than my wife. By the way, my wife also doesn’t like it when strangers ask untactful questions, so she answered:
— He’s not my husband. I’m with him for his money.
A little later, I asked what that was all about, and she told me:
— Now she’ll have enough to gossip about for a month ahead. © CIDR / Pikabu
Story 7:
I spent a holiday in Cyprus. We drove from Larnaca to Paphos for 2.5 hours at night in 90-degree heat in a bus with a faulty air conditioner. And the attendant requested that each passenger tip the driver, as was customary. © Yrten1966 | ADME
Story 8:
We took a brief excursion to Playa del Carmen a few months ago. We were all ready to relax on the beach, get some sun, have a few beers, and eat some Mexican food because the hotel had excellent ratings and was reasonably priced.
It poured every day. Not refreshing sprinkles, but downpours. Okay.
We’ll simply hang around at the motel. I chose a low-cost hotel because I didn’t expect us to spend much time there, therefore we didn’t have a balcony. Sitting in a dark hotel room in Mexico is not enjoyable. © Bart Crunk/Quora
Story 9:
I have two friends: Nick and Vince. They’re brothers. They planned to take a two-week vacation to Thailand with their families. So, two families exit the plane at the airport and walk to fetch their luggage, while Vince heads to the restrooms. They’ve already arrived with their luggage, but Vince has yet to appear.
Nick remains cool, but the women begin to feel apprehensive. Especially after the phone notified them that the subscriber was unavailable. The spouses contacted the security service. The airport personnel checks the video footage and notices Vince getting into a cab and leaving.
Anyway, a week later, they return to the hotel lobby for breakfast and notice Vince asleep on the sofa at reception. He has several tattoos and is unshaven. Apparently, the man had a wonderful holiday. He never said where he had gone. © SilverTiger/Pikabu.
Story 10:
We were once invited by friends to spend a trip together in a nation that they had previously been but we had not. They responded: “We’ll show you where to go and what is interesting.” We agreed.
So we arrived, and it turned out that “interesting” for them means spending time in 10-story shopping malls and frying on the beach in between shopping trips. And all they talked about was which restaurant to visit. And this was a country with thousands of years of history: magnificent buildings, temples, and museums.
After a few days, we were fed up with them and chose to spend our time how we wanted. They became furious and said that we spoiled their holiday. © Anxiety Cake / ADME
