3-day diet to detox your colon, liver and kidneys from toxins and excess fat

Many people especially those in developed countries have unhealthy lifestyle habits including overuse of fast food, processed food, food with additives, and lack of physical activity. As a result, there is a constant rise in incidence of chronic diseases, such as hypercholesterolemia, diabetes, and high blood pressure.

If you have a busy life and no time to change your lifestyle completely, at least you can try to practice a 3-day detox diet occasionally in order to eliminate toxins from your body and improve your general health.

Simple Rules to Detox Your Body in 3 Days

Drink a lot of water. This is the first rule of any detox diet. Drink at least five glasses a day of table water with low mineral content. That will reduce the content of salt in your body which you intake more than too much for sure. Water also hydrates your tissues and improves kidney function.

Include Superfoods. They are herbs, fruits, and vegetables rich in vitamins, microelements, and other nutrients which are necessary for proper function of your organism. Your meals can include turmeric, ginger, olive oil, garlic, coconut oil and many other powerful foods. These nutrients stimulate the function of liver enzymes, the main mediators in blood detoxification. Replace snacks with fruits, such as apples, oranges, avocado, and kiwi fruit. Make juices of freshly squeezed fruits instead buying juices with sugar and artificial sweeteners.

Lower caloric intake, but avoid fasting. You should refrain from high calorie food rich in fats and sugars during your 3-day detox diet. Instead, replace them with lean meat as a source of proteins and whole grains, which are rich in dietary fibers. Although you should lower your caloric intake for about 500 calories, you shouldn’t fast. The fasting slows down the metabolism and inhibits the mechanisms responsible for detoxification. It also diminishes protective abilities of your immune system.

Eat several small meals. If your busy life makes you unable to practice this every day, at least try to do it during this 3-day detox diet. Eat 5-6 small meals rather than less number of large meals. This will prevent fluctuations of biochemical processes and enable your metabolism to work in a perfect continual manner.
