Being married is another phase of life. It not only comes with a lot of responsibilities, but it also requires you to start being responsible on your own part as well. So here are the 5 things you may have to stop doing once you enter into marriage.

1. Stop eating outside

This may sound funny, but as funny as it sounds, it is very important. It doesn’t mean that you can’t decide to take your lunch out if you have to, but being married and still making it a habit to constantly eat from restaurants isn’t always the best thing. Not only does it eat up money for someone who starts having more things to take care of with their money, but it also creates room for meeting random people who may end up making friends, especially of the opposite sex, thus making room for infidelity.

2. Stop keeping best friends among the opposite sex.

As the saying goes;” it can’t be kept together” because one day, in fact, the goat will surely eat the cocoyam. It may have been nice to have best friends of the opposite sex while you were single, but once you are married, it becomes unhealthy for your union. Make your spouse your best friend. Trust him or her for everything.Share your joy, sorrow, anxieties, etc. with him or her. When you start finding someone of the opposite sex more interesting or feeling more at home with someone of the opposite sex than with your spouse, take notice and start cutting the individual out before he or she ruins fidelity in your marriage.

3. Stop drinking excessively.

This is especially for men.You may have enjoyed doing a lot as a single man, but once you are married, you no longer do things the way you feel like doing them. You should be considering your spouse before anything you want to do. And in most cases, not all women like having a drunk as a husband. Besides taking it easy on alcohol for your spouse’s happiness, taking a little, but not so much, alcohol helps you stay in the right frame of mind to attend to the myriad of responsibilities that marriage entails.

4. Stop giving out your cell phone number on Social Media (especially to the opposite sex).

This very one requires a lot of self-discipline and determination to do as many people, even when married still want to flirt with members of the opposite sex. Many find it difficult to just be with your spouse, but that is what marriage demands of you. Being prepared to still give your number to people of the opposite sex you meet on social media or even anywhere is behavior for the single (except for genuine purposes like business) and you will be digging yourself a hole for extramarital affairs.

5. Cut off too many friends of the opposite sex;

As a single person, it is very easy to have many friends of the opposite sex. Once you get into marriage, cut out many of them and stop acquiring more as well. You don’t need them; if you need anyone, it’s your spouse.
