Women’s reasons for ᴄʜᴇᴀᴛɪɴɢ are different than men’s. So what motivates women to risk their relationships with an ᴀғғᴀɪʀ?
ᴄʜᴇᴀᴛɪɴɢ can be dangerous to a relationship, and it is very common today. A review of research on ᴄʜᴇᴀᴛɪɴɢ found that about 20 to 25 percent of couples experience at least one instance of ᴄʜᴇᴀᴛɪɴɢ during the course of their relationship. This same review discusses changes over time in that today, women are “closing the gap” and their situational exceptions are closer to men.
Below are the research studies that women admit to the following reasons that lead them to have ᴀғғᴀɪʀs:
#1: They are not happy in their current relationship.
By far the most common reason for infidelity is relationship dissatisfaction, which is a complex emotional and cognitive state. It may reflect underlying unhealthy patterns, ongoing conflict, or outright separation, but when women are dissatisfied, it puts them (and their relationships) at risk for situational infidelity. Women are twice as likely as men to cite this as a reason for infidelity.
#2: They feel that the other person is not investing in the relationship.
Putting relationship quality first, when women feel their primary partner is not invested in their relationship, it can create a motive for infidelity. Four times as many women as men cited this as the reason for their past infidelity. They were bored or looking for something new. Women with bland lives may find infidelity appealing. While about 5% of women cited the search for novelty as the reason for their infidelity, nearly 8% cited boredom as the reason for their infidelity.
#3: Not compatible with “s.e.x life”
When women are not satisfied with their s.e.x life with their partner, they may use this as a reason to look for another partner. Being unhappy in their relationship or sometimes situational factors are the real cause of ᴄʜᴇᴀᴛɪɴɢ. Someone is flirting, they are not focused on the consequences.
#4: Psychological problems
Women often indulge in σnє-níght stαnds. They see it as a way to escape from unpleasant emotions caused by depression, psychological trauma such as anxiety disorders, emotional instability, and childhood trauma.
#5: Women feel they are not valuable to their partners.
The feeling of being seen and understood goes a long way and even though women don’t feel valued in their own relationships, this can be a reason for infidelity.
#6: They love or desire their partner
The majority of reasons women used to understand their relationships focused on their primary relationship, with only about 2% citing love for your situation and only about 5% citing situational attraction as a primary basis.
#7: They knew their relationship was nearing an end.
Ending a relationship is notoriously difficult, but it rarely happens abruptly. There is a truth that leads to the breakup between two people: the woman herself feels that her relationship or marriage is about to end, leading to easy love traps, moments of weakness, and easy ᴄʜᴇᴀᴛɪɴɢ.
#8: The space between two people
Part of the reason why women ᴄʜᴇᴀᴛ is because of the distance in the relationship. When couples live in different places, they are less integrated into each other’s lives, leaving the woman feeling distant and lonely, which makes it easier for her to have more opportunities to ᴄʜᴇᴀᴛ.
