Jodie Foster, 62, won the prestigious Golden Globe for “Best Actress in a Miniseries or TV Movie” for her role in True Detective: Night Country.
This was her fifth Golden Globe winner, out of ten nominations.
Along with Jodie, other candidates included Sofia Vergara for Griselda, Cate Blanchett for All the Old Knives, Naomi Watts for Feud: Capote vs. the Swans, Cristin Milioti for The Penguin, and Kate Winslet for The Regime.
When Jodie walked up to take her prize, Sofia Vergara, unable to contain her excitement, got up and ran toward the platform, saying, “Oh no, give me one! Just not this again, not this!”
Unfazed, Jodie smiled and recognized the situation with a lighthearted “I know.”
Sofia’s somber attitude was recorded briefly on camera before she burst out laughing.
During her acceptance speech, Jodie acknowledged Sofia, saying, “Another cool thing about my age and being here right now is having the chance to be among all these people, especially next to you, Sofia!”
