Coughing is one of the most annoying ones especially in winter. The incessant coughing not only causes discomfort but also irritates your throat passage, making it difficult to swallow your food. Besides the seasonal change, there are other reasons that may lead to this condition like allergens or pollutants. It is certainly not a pleasant experience to cough all day long, but it is perfectly normal as it helps to remove mucus, allergens, or pollutants from the air passage. Coughing generally goes away on its own after a few days. But for relief, you can either take over-the-counter medicines or try some home remedies. Today we will tell you a remedy that can help your cough go away.
You need:
2.25 cups sugar (or a little less)
1 cup of water
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
How to prepare:
– Step 1: Mix the sugar, water and lemon juice in a small pot
– Step 2: Add honey (which has anti-inflammatory properties) and ginger (which strengthens the immune system)
– Step 3: Grind the cloves (which contains antioxidants) and mix well
– Step 4: Boil the liquid for about 20 minutes over medium heat
– Step 5: Once ready, using a spoon, gently drip the liquid into small pieces over a baking sheet
– Step 6: Sprinkle some powdered sugar on top to prevent sticking
Let the tablets cool down, and that’s all! You have natural anti-cough tablets.
