Brain ๐๐ฎ๐ช๐ญ pregnant woman, Frankielen da Silva Zampoli Padilha, 21, from Campo Largo in south Brazil, was kept alive for 123 days – the longest period ever – before delivering healthy twins via a ‘miracle’ caesarean section
When Frankielen da Silva Zampoli Padilha was only nine weeks pregnant in 2017, her family didn’t know if she would pull through.
Doctors decided to save the nine-week-old embryos after their hearts continued to beat inside their mothers’ womb.
According to the Daily Mail, Doctors saw that Frankielen’s babies still had a heartbeat even after she ๐ญ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ญ. They were able to keep her alive so that her body would be able to provide the nutrients for the twins, but there was no chance that Frankielen would survive because she was brain ๐๐ฎ๐ช๐ญ.
While the mother was in the hospital, her nurses made sure that her room was decorated so that it was comfortable.
They treated her family like they were special as well. When an ultrasound was performed, doctors didn’t think that they would see anything. What they saw was a miracle. Both babies were growing and thriving. Each day that passed meant that the twins could be delivered as healthy babies. The mother spent 123 days in the hospital. Her babies were delivered via C-section.
Ana Vitoria was born weighing 1.4 kg while her brother Asaph came in at 1.3 kg. Their health was comparable to that of premature babies of the same age.
The newborns were kept in incubators for three months and are now being looked after by Frankielen’s mother, Angela Silva, while Mr Padilha works.
Scores of well-wishers from across Brazil, touched by the family’s plight, raised thousands of pounds in support, with many donating baby clothes and nappies
