Let’s Celebrate The 21-Month-Old Girl Who Just Beat Stage 4 C*ncer
Molly Hughes is a 21-month-old sweetheart from Kentucky who has a big reason to celebrate! Her family just found out that her stage 4 c*ncer is finally in remission.
Molly Hughes was officially diagnosed with neuroblastoma when she was just a small baby. Her family is unbelievable. They never thought their little one could be diagnosed with such a bad condition at such a young age.
After being diagnosed, Molly spent 130 nights in the hospital. This is a terrible must see for her parents, as she is their precious daughter.
When Molly stayed at the hospital, her parents watched her go
through grueling rounds of treatment during her treatment. However, from the very beginning, Molly’s parents saw that their daughter was a warrior.
Her mother, Chelsea, notes that Molly makes a strong recovery after each treatment. She finds that little Molly will break down for a few days after going through life and then she will smile and be happy again.
Her family and their friends joined the #MollyStrong campaign to share news of her progress and treatments. Her prognosis is not good, but she has an amazing support system rallying around her. Her family worried about what would happen continuously, but Molly’s strong attitude gave them hope.
“She is doing really good, you can’t even tell she was ever sick,” mom Chelsea Hughes tells PEOPLE. “She’s playing and is wild just like any other 1 year old.”
To celebrate, the family — from Bowling Green, Kentucky — recently had a photoshoot starring Molly, who announced the news with a sign.
“OH HAPPY DAY!” Chelsea wrote in a Facebook post last month that included Molly’s picture. “Molly has some BIG news to share! Her scans were clear & showed no evidence of disease!! There is NO active c*ncer left in her little body!”
While the news is positive, Molly still has to participate in further treatment to prevent c*ncer from recurring.
Chelsea says that the prayers of everyone who followed Molly’s treatment and progress are to thank for her being able to finally recover. She says that the prayers played an enormous role in Molly being able to be strong through the whole process. However, she also keeps the millions of children who are still suffering in her own prayers.
