The First Miracle Twins Born Just 15 Minutes Apart Have Birthdates In Separate Years 2021 And 2022
ALL it took was 15 minutes for a set of twins to be born on different days in different years. Fatima Madrigal and Robert Trujillo welcomed their son, Alfredo, on New Year’s Eve at 11:45pm. His sister, Aylin was born right when the clock hit midnight on New Year’s Day.
Aylin weighed 5 pounds, 14 ounces. and was the first baby born at Natividad Medical Center and in Monterey County in 2022. Her big brother, Alfredo, weighed 6 pounds, 1 ounce.
“It’s ᴄʀᴀᴢʏ ᴛᴏ ᴍᴇ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴛʜᴇʏ ᴀʀᴇ ᴛᴡɪɴs ᴀɴᴅ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ᴅɪFFᴇʀᴇɴᴛ birthdays,” said Madrigal in a press release from the medical center in California. I was surprised and happy that she arrived at midnight.”
It was an absolute pleasure to help these little ones arrive here safely in 2021 and 2022,” the doctor added. “Wʜᴀᴛ ᴀɴ ᴀᴍᴀᴢɪɴɢ ᴡᴀʏ ᴛᴏ sᴛᴀʀᴛ ᴛʜᴇ Nᴇᴡ Yᴇᴀʀ!” The ʜᴏsᴘɪᴛᴀʟ sʜᴀʀᴇᴅ ᴀᴅᴏʀᴀʙʟᴇ ɪᴍᴀɢᴇs ᴏF ᴛʜᴇ ʙᴀʙɪᴇs ᴏɴ sᴏᴄɪᴀʟ ᴍᴇᴅɪᴀ, writing, “Baby Aylin Yolanda Trujillo was born exactly at midnight in 2022, but get this: Her twin brother, Alfredo Antonio Trujillo, was born 15 minutes before in 2021!”
There are about 120,000 twin births in the US each year, making up over 3 percent of all births, according to the Cᴇɴᴛᴇʀs Fᴏʀ Dɪsᴇᴀsᴇ Cᴏɴᴛʀᴏʟ. However, twins with different birthdays are even rarer, with an estimated chance of one in 2million.
In an even ʀᴀʀᴇʀ ᴏᴄᴄᴜʀʀᴇɴᴄᴇ, ᴀɴ Iɴᴅɪᴀɴᴀ woman gave birth to twins born in ᴅɪFFᴇʀᴇɴᴛ ᴅᴇᴄᴀᴅᴇs, according to WRTV. Dawn Gilliam and Jason Tello welcomed twins Joslyn and Jaxson. Joslyn was born on December 31, 2019, at 11:37pm. Her brother was born 30 minutes later at 12:07am on January 1, 2020. At the time, Gilliam said she was “in sʜᴏᴄᴋ.”
Meanwhile, Madrigal’s twins will be welcomed home by their three older siblings, two girls and a boy. Madrigal said her oldest son is excited that one of the babies was a boy. She says her family couldn’t wait to meet them.
