Simple, after following the directions given above you will need to take a saucepan and pour 4 cups of caster sugar into it, for a total of about 750 to 800 grams. And to this sugar you will then need to add three cups of watermelon rind juice. For a total of about 600 ml of juice.
And again, to the sugar and juice you will also need to add spices. To be more precise, 5-6 cloves. All these ingredients must cook together over low heat until the mixture has thickened.
In the meantime, it will be necessary to continue by adding more ingredients. More precisely, half a tablespoon of butter, the juice of half a lemon and the watermelon rinds previously cooked in the oven. These in turn will have to cook for about 1 hour on a low heat. Be careful, however, not to throw away the remaining watermelon rind juice as it may still be needed later.
Using the fruit, and thus precisely the part of the watermelon that is usually eaten, you can prepare a tasty drink in the meantime. Simply take a few pieces of fruit and place them in a blender to prepare a tasty watermelon drink. The resulting mixture is then filtered to remove any remaining residue and can finally be sipped.
