What Your Sleeping Position Says About Your Relationship
You may not have known this, but your sleeping position can actually serve as a good indicator about where your relationship stands.
And if you want some signs about whether you’re doing right or wrong in your relationship, you might want to take a look at your sleeping positions and patterns.
1. Spoon (man on woman)
When the man is on the outside of a spoon position, it means he is being possessive, territorial, protective, and nurturing of his woman. He wants to make sure that no harm will come to her or the relationship as a whole.
2. Shingles (Lover’s touch )
The shingles position is one of the sweeter and more intimate sleeping positions that a couple could have in bed. It’s when one person rests their head on the other person’s shoulder.
What this means is that the person whose head is resting is someone who is dependent and reliant on the other partner. And the one whose shoulder is being used as a headrest is a listener and nurturer.
3. Spooning (woman on man)
When a man lives inside a spoon position, it means that he is looking for a lot of love, care, patience and understanding from his wife. He may feel a little broken and damaged. He may need a little healing.
4. The Lover’s Knot (Lover’s Cradle)
The Lover’s Knot is clearly a position that indicates intimacy and closeness in the relationship. It is when two people lock their legs together and intertwine them in some kind of knot for a considerable period of time until both people fall asleep.
This is also a sign of very high sexual activity between two people.
5. The Crab (Loose Tethered )
The crab position is when the two of you engage in two very different positions that simply do not make any symmetrical sense in the relationship.
When this is the position you are in while sleeping, it could indicate a lack of intimacy between the two of you. It’s as if one of you is trying to escape from the other. And that can never be a good sign in any kind of relationship.
6. Cherish (Back to back )
This is when couples sleep facing each other with both backs touching. This means that both people in the relationship feel comfortable, relaxed, and confident.
You may not have known this, but your sleeping position can actually serve as a good indicator as to where your relationship stands.
7. Hollywood (Sweathert’s Hug )
This is a fairly cliché sleeping position and is usually one that new and young couples tend to participate in. It is the classic “Hollywood” style of a sleeping position where you see couples in movies getting locked in.
It is when the man is usually stretched out on his back while letting his wife rest on his chest as they fall deeply asleep with each other.
7. Pillow talk
This is a very simple position and is actually one that many couples engage in. It is just when two people sleep in a position that allows them to face each other without necessarily touching.
This means that the level of communication in the relationship is very strong and they have no problem just opening up to each other. You should be proud of your communication game if this is how you sleep with your partner.
9. The cliff hanger
With the cliff hanger, you both find yourself on opposite sides of the bed. It is as if you are both hanging off the edge of the cliff with the way you are hanging off the edges of the bed.
You are creating a lot of space and distance between the two of you while you sleep. And that can be a sign that there is a certain sense of emotional distance between the two of you in the relationship.
Make sure that you are able to close that distance as you move forward in the relationship.
